Tell me who you hang around with and I’ll tell you who you are.
This refrain means that our friends reveal lots about us. For example, if one has many friends who are responsible, hard-working and friendly, it’s reasonable to expect that this person has these same traits. On the other hand, it could be expected that people who demonstrate these good traits would not hang around with a person who lies or is lazy. However, it is not fair to generalize in every case. It could be that a good person hangs out with someone who is not as good in order to be a positive influence. I don’t know if we have such a saying as this one is English. But, I know that many times people judge others and this is not always fair.

This article talks about eating tapas in Spain. It says there are many types from the very sophisticated to the simple. They can be very affordable. They are a good representation of all the flavors of Spain.
The tradition of tapas began in the 17th century, long before the varieties available today that include the vanguard of Western gastronomy. Iberian ham and the traditional Spanish tortilla are still popular. These, as well as all types of seafood and cheeses can be served in small portions and can be considered tapas.
All over Spain, there are bars and taverns that serve their own specialties. The manner in which they are served is also quite varied. Some are on toothpicks, skewers or in their own small dish. Each region is proud of their own variety of tapas.
The perfect accompaniment for tapas is a Spanish wine, vermouth or beer. The wait staff is always available to help you make your selection.
New words:
paladear - to savor
embrujo - charm
disfrutar - to enjoy
asequibles - affordable
palillo - toothpick
aderezos - dressing
fabada - bean stew
pincho - skewer; kabob

Hola Clase,
Me llamo Kristi. Soy de Michigan. Soy estudiante en la Universidad de Toledo. Soy soltera y no tengo hijos. Estudio literatura y educación. Me gusta leer, escuchar música y cocinar.

Also, I would like to teach in a high school. I don’t know much about Spain. I know they dance the flamenco and that bull fights are popular. I know that there used to be a dictator but no it is a democracy. I want to know more about the food and history of the country.
